summahh
This summer has been nothing short of a paradox for me... so chill, yet so stressful at the same time with this stupid Athabasca course.  It's like a mental state of limbo as I attempt to seamlessly make the transition between schoolgirl to working woman.

Enter the quarter-life crisis: a constant state of "in-betweenness".  I'm not a student, but not quite a full-fledged yuppie either.  I'd still pick flip flops or my DC's over my Nine West pumps anyday, but I now also have a newfound appreciation for looking the part of the smart, savvy business woman.  I feel the power in my power suit, but at the end of the day, I still feel more like myself in my oversized hoodie and jogging pants. I had a blast moshing it up at Edgefest with the punk-rockers with overpriced hot-dogs and beer, but I have just as much fun getting decked out to go see a musical (or even an opera) and dining Summerlicious styles.  Britney Spears was on to something for once... I'm not a girl, not yet a woman. (ok, that was cheesy)

Anywhoo, other than the schizophrenia, this summer has been quite action-packed if I do say so myself: I picked up guitar, and rock-climbing as the new sport of the season.  I have my Y pass and a membership to the Practice Tee (which I should probably use more in August).  I'm beginning to experience Him in new and exciting ways.  I've gone to my fair share of summer concerts -- The Stills, Dashboard, and Edgefest.  Vegas was amazing, and plans are currently in the works for a last-minute getaway to Cancun with my Cuba girls, as well as a potential camping/Maritimes trip with the fam.  I've also finally managed to find my own place downtown for September -- a cozy bachelor on Yonge & Wellesley, just two steps from the subway and it's pretty sweet!

More importantly, I've begun to discover who those special people are who, even after university, I will continue to keep in touch with.  It's kind of like leaving high school again with a handful of friends, but somehow at this stage of life, seem all the more meaningful.  The many talks over coffee, dinner, beer, and the long drives will not be forgotten.  A part of me wants to relive relationships of the past, yet I'm looking forward with anticipation to what the future holds.  I have a feeling things will work out as they should... eventually.

Musiq Soulchild's playing in the background, and I'm feeling a tad sentimental.  I should probably end this post here...

Mary Mary quite contrary
Now Playing: Corinne Bailey Rae
I decided to do some impromptu gardening yesterday.  I bought some impatiens to plant later this weekend but I felt "inspired" and I ended up planting them last night around 8:30.  Don't ask me why but I guess that's what happens when you're alone in the house with nothing to do and you're too lazy to go hit the gym.  It was a workout though I tell you.  However, I like the looks of the flowers, even moreso than the ones I had last (pansies + dusty millers).  Hopefully I keep them alive.

I am digging Corinne Bailey Rae's CD.  It's the perfect summer CD.  Her sultry voice hits the spot on a warm breezy night.

final fantasy phase
Now Playing: FF
Since I'm playing FF X-2 (yes I know I'm late), it revived my fondness for Final Fantasy music.  I found a site that has almost ALL the piano sheets for the piano collections.  Yipee!!!  It's still hot where I'm at but at least it's not 100+ degrees anymore.  I wish we had a pool.  I don't really have a lot to report but the hubby is going to Florida for work for a whole week.  I might go shopping while he's gone.  hehehe...  We need to start working on the guest bedroom (painting, buying furniture, etc) but I think that'll have to wait until he comes back.

I'm sick right now with some throat thing.  I'm still waiting to see if it's strep throat or not.  *blah*
